From the mouths of babes....

What a lovely Sunday morning..... Brayden and I were settling down on the couch to read his new Berenstain Bear book. Ellie came over and didn't want to miss out, so she insisted on sitting on my lap too. She said, "Leg, leg." Brayden graciously moved over to make room for Ellie on my other leg. Then said, "It's a good thing you have big thighs mom, so we can both sit with you."

The good news is, after 30 years I have discovered one good reason to have big thighs! Thanks Brayden, you're always thinking!

Partying with Two, Two year olds!

What a day! The girls' party was great! We had it at 10am so everyone was happy and ready to play. But I need to go back. Last night when I was putting Brayden to bed I asked, "Will you help me get ready for the party tomorrow?" He looked at me and asked, "Why, do you have a lot of preparations to put up?" I just smiled and said, "I think so." He has been using such big words and confusing the meaning and it is so dang funny. This morning he asked, "Mom, can I get some of my games out to play at the party unless (in case) it is boring?" He had big plans for the party and they were all so cute!

There are a ton of pics. because I couldn't choose just a few and I still don't know how to do the collage thing. So here goes:

Brayden, Grandma Phillips, Ellie and Dani
I am thinking the hat just snapped his chin, I'm not sure.

Brunch with the family!

Daddy and his girl, Dani.

Dani thrilled about the shirt from Uncle Pete!

Ellie checking out her Jacksonville shirt from Uncle Pete!

Me, opening the dolls from Auntie Shelby, Uncle Scott, Hunter, and Noah they were a big hit!

Getting ready to brush the dolls' hair.

Beautiful Danielle

Sassy Ellie with her new glasses from Auntie Helen!

Time for cake! They were a little ticked they had to sit in the boosters at the table while the big kids were at a cool table in the kitchen.

Danielle DID NOT like everyone looking at her and singing. (She is def. her Daddy's girl) This is my favorite pic. : She decided she had enough and just hid under the table!

Yummy red velvet cake!

Cousin Eliette loving the cake too!

Wild and Crazy days at Home!

We are stuck inside, once again, will this snow ever end? One day we had a choo-choo train going through our living room. The kids thought this was hilarious! Dani as the caboose, trying to chug down the track!
Daddy came home and had a special treat before bedtime. (He forgot to wait until they were in bed so he wouldn't have to share).

Playing catch with Daddy!

My mom used to sew matching nightgowns for my sister and me. Last time I was home we found this little one of Kalin's. I brought it back and put it in the PJ drawer. The other night when G-ma Phillips was getting Dani dressed she insisted on wearing it. She looked like a little Amish girl, she was pretty cute. But the arms were a little too tight at the wrists, and her hands turned purple after a little while. Bummer, we had to take it off.

Yet another version of new hats. I don't know why they think this is so fun, but they came out again with B's underwear on their heads, but in a different style.

B chose to wear it over his pants and on his head.

He redeemed himself!

All right, I am feeling a little better about my mommy skills. I came home injured last night from my soccer game. I rolled my ankle and it popped a few times, it's not pretty. I left early to ice it at home. After I hobbled up the stairs Brayden came over VERY concerned to find out what was going on. He put his little hand on my leg and asked, "Are you going to be ok Mom?" Kent was getting ice for me out of the freezer. B then asked, "Will Daddy take good care of you at the next place you go?" (Kent and I were heading to some friends for a game night). It was the sweetest thing, he patted my leg and gave me some kisses. Then when I was finally hobbling back down the steps he yelled, "Make sure Daddy takes care of you (as Kent is sitting in the car), I don't want you to get hurt again." There may be some hope with this guy after all. :)

Inapproriate laughing.....continued

What a slap in the face! We were playing with my niece and nephews when my nephew fell and got some owies. Brayden instantly burst into laughter. I was appalled! But as I was lecturing him about sympathy and being nice to your friends, I realized, no wonder he's laughing. Where would he learn such behavior? Probably from his mom who is always laughing when he falls, or his sisters fall. Honestly, I try to conceal it, but some of the spills are so hilarious and goofy looking. I am going to consciously try NOT to laugh (when they're looking). Being nice all the time and a good role model is NOT easy. This mom business is hard work, I'm still not sure if I'm cut out for it. My poor kids are getting a raw deal.

Inapproriate laughing.....

Ok, this is a record... three posts in one day! But, Brayden is at Grandma Phillips' house, so I can type in some peace and quiet. Here goes.... Kent and the girls and I were at Joe's this morning just walking around. As we were cruising the store, I saw an older, heavier lady near the bike section. She was casually checking out the bikes and when I turned around she was riding one. The old saying, "You don't forget, it's like riding a bike." Not so true.... I turned around just in time to see her leaning to the side, she didn't even stick her leg out to catch herself. She landed smack on her side. As I'm typing this it sounds really awful, but it was sooo funny! Kent and I both had to turn the other way so we didn't make a huge scene laughing at her. (Her husband was there to help her). Every time I picture it in my mind, I bust up laughing. I know this is evil, but it was like a movie. After ten minutes we were brave enough to walk past the same area so we could go pay. I saw her bravely meandering through the store! I would have been out of there so fast.
As many of you know I laugh inappropriately pretty much daily, this is the latest example, it really is evil isn't it? No wonder Kent gets upset when I laugh at him!
